摘要
Abstract
Zero-class-hour Teaching Mode is a teaching method aimed at developing students’ self learning ability. This research applies this teaching method to practice. 62 research subjects from two classes participated in the experiment for half a year. The results show that it is feasible to implement the Zero-class-hour Teaching Mode in the English majors undergraduate reading courses. Majority of students are interested in reading after class with the aim of improving their autonomy. As a positive attitude
the dissatisfaction with this model is mainly reflected in the teachers’ lack of intervention in the process. Most students’ self-learning ability is generally weak
but more than 68% of the students will continue to study independently in the future. Therefore Zero-class-hour Teaching Mode is practical to improve students’ self-learning ability.
