The piano duet developed from Europe was originally a piano teaching method. Later

with the passage of time

it gradually developed into a new form of piano playing. According to the way of playing

it mainly has two kinds of playing ways: one is that two pianists play a piece of music on a piano at the same time

which is commonly known as four-handed playing; the other is double piano performance

which means two pianists play a piano and play a piano piece respectively. At present

piano duet has very high teaching value and artistic value. However

because some piano teachers have inadequate understanding of the piano duet

have insufficient reserve of relevant professional knowledge and influenced by the traditional piano teaching mode

they can not effectively develop the teaching value of piano duet and reduce the teaching efficiency. This paper summarizes the piano duet

briefly analyzes the current situation of piano duet teaching

and simply discusses the application of piano duet in piano teaching for professional reference and exchange.
