The dissemination of traditional Chinese classics is a major measure to improve China’s opening to the outside world and thus promote national influence. Translation

as a bridge and link between different nations and countries

carries the important task of spreading the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation

and is the main driving force for promoting integration of the East and the West. This research analyzes the current status of translation of Chinese traditional culture classics

and analyzes the translation strategy of Lin Yutang’s English version of A Happy Excursion from the perspective of hermeneutics. It attempts to explore its translation strategies

and make reference for the translation of Chinese classics.
