本文证明了这样一个论点,即道德困扰为哲学咨询师提供了一个机会,使得他们能够从事既有益于社会又具有哲学趣味的工作。笔者之前发表在《哲学践行》杂志上的一篇论文(Matchett 2018)已通过将道德困扰概念化为一种出现于道德世界观中的现象,解答了“道德困扰有什么哲学意义”这一问题。本文探讨了哲学咨询应对道德困扰的方式可能不同于迄今为止所有由护理行业所部署的策略。虽然其中这些差异的存在通常是相当微妙的,但这些差异的存在可能会使哲学咨询比护理行业里的策略更有效;而除了帮助护士个人获得更好的感受外,哲学咨询还能够加强护理行业为缓解护理短缺和提高患者护理质量所做的努力。尽管进一步的案例研究对于支持这些主张来说是有必要的,我们有理由认为这些主张本身是有道理的。
