摘要

Abstract

Cultivating talents with higher thinking skills has been the major target for education. In light of this

some researchers have attempted to develop students' thinking skills in the CMC-based English writing environment. Then how does this writing environment contribute to thinking skills development? This paper tries to answer this question from two perspectives of constructivism. It can be concluded that from the cognitive constructivist perspective

writing is the device for thinking and the writing tasks and text-based discussions in CMC-based English writing could facilitate the development of students' thinking skills; while from the social constructivist perspective

the application of CMC in English writing teaching create a collaborative learning environment

which also promotes students' thinking skills development.
