Abstract

Over the past decade

the concept of tactical urbanism has gained momentum

emerging as an effective strategy for urban revitalization across various locales. Through experimental interventions

dialogues with governing bodies ensue

while astutely arranged configurations serve to address urban challenges. This discourse examines the trajectory of tactical urbanism within the Chinese context. Its belated introduction to Asia and disparate social frameworks and administrative paradigms make direct transposition of Western precedents proves challenging. Hence

East Asian nations like Japan and China necessitate a tailored approach. This study contends that while overt manifestations of tactical urbanism have yet to materialize formally in China

its principles have gradually permeated certain placemaking endeavors. By dissecting such instances

the merits and constraints of tactical urbanism in the Chinese milieu are scrutinized.
