In recent years, many scholars have conducted in-depth studies on Joseph Needham’s contributions. Among the more influential works is Needham at the Crossroads: History, Politics and International Science in Wartime China (1942–1946)[9], which explores how Needham conducted academic activities in wartime China and his interactions with Chinese history, politics, and international science.Additionally，《大器晚成：李约瑟与中国科学技术史的故事》[10] provides a comprehensive account of the creation process of Needham’s seminal work Science and Civilisation in China. This book not only reconstructs Needham’s more than half-century of research, planning, preparation, and writing but also details how Cambridge University Press overcame numerous challenges to successfully publish this world-renowned masterpiece.Another important work, Another important work, 《战时中国科学镜头下的李约瑟》[11] uses a wealth of detailed historical materials to vividly recount Needham’s scientific expeditions in wartime China, including his visits to the Northwest and Southeast.This book presents a comprehensive narrative of Needham's travels and inquiries.The book offers an exhaustive account of Joseph Needham's journey to China, meticulously detailing the precise methodology of his inquiries.
