摘要

Abstract

Pests invaded 37 counties in Jiangxi Province from 1935 to 1936

causing a total loss of more than 7.83 million yuan. In response to this unexpected agricultural pest

the provincial agricultural institute implemented a 14-month series of technical measures

including the investigation of pest species and the estimation of grain damage

the implementation of pest elimination and treatment methods

and the popularization of scientific pest control knowledge. In addition to exterminating pests and minimizing people's losses

it promoted pest management expertise and enhanced the level of pest control throughout the country. Furthermore

it drew the attention of the government and society to the development and scientific administration of warehouses

as well as promoting academic growth

both of which have historical and practical relevance.
