Abstract

Traditional documentaries

based on film photography and linear editing techniques

construct an aesthetic system centered on "objective truth". Since the 21st century

the exponential development of digital technology has not only revolutionized creative tools but also brought about a deep transformation in documentary aesthetics: virtual reality technology breaks the boundaries of physical space

interactive interfaces reconstruct narrative power relations

and virtual generated images challenge the essential definition of "authenticity". These changes have driven documentaries to shift from one-dimensional "mirror images of reality" to multi-dimensional "production sites of meaning"

and micro-documentaries have completed the transformation of the narrative system on this basis.
