Abstract

With the advent of the short video era

the form of news dissemination has undergone profound changes. News vlogs

as a new type of reporting method that combines professionalism and socialisation

have gradually become an important medium for the dissemination of current affairs news.This paper takes CCTV News's 'Frontline of Great Power Diplomacy' series of vlogs as its research object and uses multimodal discourse analysis theory and a macro-to-micro research method to explore how news vlogs use multiple symbolic modalities such as language

visuals

and audio to construct discourse meaning and achieve innovation in political communication.
