In recent years

the virtual economy has developed rapidly and has become a key category in the modern market economy system. This paper takes 1

531 CSSCI research papers on virtual economy from 1998 to 2025

indexed by China

as samples

and uses the CiteSpace visualization tool to analyze the evolution of hot topics and future trends in China's virtual economy research based on Marx's theoretical framework of virtual capital. The study finds that the development of China's virtual economy not only follows the general laws of capital movement but also has unique attributes due to the socialist market economy system. By tracing the research trajectory in this field

the aim is to provide theoretical references for promoting how the virtual economy can better serve the real economy and achieve a virtuous cycle between the two.
