The citizenship of migrant workers is conducive to expanding domestic demand and promoting consumption
and many scholars have conducted studies on the consumption effects brought about by the citizenship of migrant workers. This paper explores the consumption upgrading effect of the citizenship of migrant workers from the perspective of micro data by using the regression model of least squares method using data from the China Household Finance Survey. The study finds that as the income and education level
social security level
willingness to settle in the city and life satisfaction of migrant workers increase
they become more integrated into the city and their economic status
social security and self-identity improve
ultimately increasing their consumption level and optimising their consumption structure
achieving the effect of consumption upgrading.
