Urban historic districts

as important carriers of cultural heritage

historic districts often suffer from issues such as damaged architectural styles

homogenized tourism products

outdated infrastructure

and insufficient resident participation. Based on cultural capital theory

experience economy theory

and sustainable development theory

this paper proposes revitalization paths including the improvement of policy systems

innovation in development models

strengthening cultural heritage transmission

creating a tourist-friendly environment

and promoting multi-party cooperation. Practice shows that through community co-governance

cultural creative development

new media promotion

and collaboration between government

enterprises

and academia

the balance between protection and development can be effectively achieved

and the attractiveness of historic districts can be enhanced. In the future

strengthening policy support

expanding financing channels

and cultivating professional talents are necessary to realize the sustainable development of historic districts.
