摘要

Abstract

Border Town is the masterpiece of Shen Congwen

a famous novelist in China

which focuses on the tragedy of people’s ill-fated life

with a plain words and delicate sentiment become required essay in Chinese class

has been included in the Asia Weekly launched "Top 100 Chinese novels in the 20th century" and was remade for films. According to Construal Theory

this paper takes Yang Hsien-yi's and Jeffrey C. Kinkley's translations as examples

and makes a comparative analysis study from the perspectives of scope and ground

perspective

prominence and specificity. It is found that the differences and deviations embodied by different translators in translation are closely related to the construal process. Translation is the process of the translator's own understanding and interpretation of the original text

which is restricted by the translator's own construal ability.
