Abstract

The mental health of college students is an important part of vocational school education

and it will have a profound impact on students' mental state

living conditions

and work quality after they enter the society. The mental health status of college students in higher vocational colleges under the background of the new crown epidemic was analyzed focusing on the general condition and comparing it with China’s norm level. The Symptoms self-rating scale (SCL-90) and self-designed questionnaire were used to test and statistically analyze the data of 475 higher vocational college students in Jiangsu Province. Results: The average total score of the SCL-90 scale was 120.77 and 61 people had a score above 160. 66 people had more than 43 positive items. The average scores of each factor in the sample were lower than the norm (P<0.05)

and junior students scored the highest in each factor

followed by freshmen and sophomores. Conclusion: The mental health status of students in higher vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province during the epidemic period is acceptable and the mental health status of juniors and first-year students is not as good as that of sophomores.
