This paper combs and explores the connotation and significance of Foreign Discourse System with Chinese Characteristics

as well as the new connotation and core dimension of the development of intercultural competence of English majors in colleges and universities

and studies the promoting role of the construction of Foreign Discourse System with Chinese Characteristics in the development of students' cognitive understanding

emotional attitude and behavioral skills and other intercultural competence. At the cognitive level

it promotes students' understanding of the diversity of world cultures and the differences between Chinese and foreign cultures. At the level of emotional attitude

it enhances students' cultural identity awareness

cultural confidence and cultural consciousness
