摘要

Abstract

The Hermeneutics translation theory holds that what matters most in translation is translators' behaviors

the essence of translation. Translators' behaviors bridge the gap between the source and target text. How the translators unfold and grab the target text

including the meaning and the philosophy behind it

to achieve equal language transfer

deserves to be explored. Therefore it's essentially important that we know what are happening cognitively and psychologically inside the translators in the process of translation. The

Classics of Mountains and Rivers

which includes various cultural images

is a renowned Chinese classic and thus has been translated into different languages by multiple translators. To better understand the essence of translation

this thesis reviews significant translation theories and analyzes factors which may influence translators' behaviors in the translation process. In addition

various research methods will also be adopted to interpret translators' behaviors.
