摘要

Abstract

Buying Words constitutes Guizi's first full-length novel after an absence from the literary scene lasting more than a decade. In this work

which synthesizes a sense of temporality with a sense of problematics

adopts an embedding narrative structure

and employs the technique of blank-leaving

readers can identify both continuities with Guizi's earlier works and the emergence of distinctive new characteristics. By taking these continuities and new characteristics as analytical entry points for examining Buying Words alongside Guizi's prior novels

a unique aesthetic of blank-leaving specific to Guizi becomes clearly discernible.
