The emergence of the essay film in the 20th century opened up a new genre in cinema

but as it branched off from the documentary it formed a genre of film. It thus became one of the studies of interest to film scholars. From the point of view of film studies

it is a product of the diversification of film language

a simple film language that brings out advanced and complex ideas. Compared to documentary

it is very different in terms of political culture

audience relations

sound processing and perspective and presentation

but has great similarities in terms of film language and audience communication. They both use visual technology to build a relationship with the audience

but the essay film needs to break through the public’s perception of him in the future.
