authored by the blind physician Sugiyama Waichi (杉山和一

1610-1694) during the early Edo period

represents a seminal acupuncture textbook that profoundly influenced Japanese acupuncture practices throughout the Edo era and subsequent generations. Its content appears to have been primarily influenced by Zhang Jiebin(张介宾)'s

Leijing Tuyi

(类经图翼

completed in 1624) from Ming China. This paper conducts a comparative analysis of both texts

particularly focusing on their descriptions of acupoints. While

Senshin San'yōshū

largely adopts the acupoint location methods from

Leijing Tuyi

it demonstrates significant modifications in textual descriptions. Compared to its Chinese predecessor

Senshin San'yōshū

exhibits three distinctive characteristics: 1) emphasized groupings of acupoints

2) prioritized interconnections between newly introduced and prev

iously described acupoints

and 3) provided practical supplements to Leijing Tuyi's original descriptions.
