摘要

Abstract

Qian Zhongshu's

Selected Poems of the Song Dynasty with Annotation

includes poems by Wang Ling

primarily because these works profoundly align with Qian's rigorous criteria for poetry selection while highlighting the unique value of Wang Ling's poetry within the broader context of Song dynasty poetry history. From the perspective of poetic characteristics

this article examines the reasons behind Qian Zhongshu's inclusion of Wang Ling's poems in his work

Selected Poems of the Song Dynasty with Annotations

.Examining the rationale behind this inclusion

it becomes clear that Wang Ling's "authenticity" far surpasses that of his contemporaries among realist poets. He rejected the detached portrayal of suffering characteristic of scholar-officials

fully integrating his own tumultuous life experiences into his work

thereby transforming poetry into an internally generated product of life. His distinctive language also stems from emotional depth

truly embodying the principle of "meaning preceding expression" and completely transcending the constraints of "artificial antiquity" and "mechanical rhyming." Moreover

his poetry exhibits a grand vision

extending beyond personal setbacks to convey universal concern through transcendent imagination

while demonstrating inherent resilience through spiritual coherence even in adversity.
