摘要

第一次世界大战期间，远赴欧洲前线的中国人有生以来第一次，也可能是唯一一次来到异国他乡，参与到占统治地位的殖民帝国的文化中，改变了他们看待世界的方式，尤其是看待西方人的方式。通过六位华工身处“一战”的记忆和书写，可以观察到现有历史文献所缺乏的个人经验。
