摘要

Abstract

Against the backdrop of profound restructuring in global value chains

the practice of adhering to US dollar settlements for cross-border trade under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) has evolved into an institutional predicament

[

]

. Renminbi (RMB) internationalization

however

offers a dual deconstruction mechanism through institutional breakthroughs and technological empowerment. This study conducts an empirical analysis using panel data on exports from RCEP partner countries to China during the period 2016–2022. Building upon the Two-Way Fixed Effects (TWFE) model and mechanism testing models

it explores the impact of RMB internationalization on the quality of exports within the RCEP region. The findings conclude that RMB internationalization exerts a significant positive effect on the export quality of RCEP countries. This effect is primarily realized through reducing transaction costs and enhancing exchange rate stability.
