In order to understand the current situation of marine literacy of undergraduate students in China and increase efficiency of the marine education

a questionnaire survey was conducted among undergraduate students. The results show that undergraduate students have a strong desire to acquire more knowledge on the ocean with practice experiential approach

and have a strong interest in marine environmental protection. But the reality marine education lacks the fundamental thoughts and overall design. The content is scattered. The eduction method is out-dated. The result is not under control. There is still room for growth for the marine accomplishment of undergraduate students. Suggestions are given to address the issues found.
