摘要

Abstract

Past research has shown conflicting results when studying the effect of personality on marital satisfaction. Many articles focus on better-understood personality factors such as neuroticism and ignore the others

leading to an inconsistent understanding of overall personality. This study intends to find the impact of each of the big five personality traits (openness to experience

conscientiousness

extraversion

agreeableness

and neuroticism) on marital satisfaction. The review from 10 studies with a sample size of 47

367 shows that conscientiousness and agreeableness have a strong positive correlation with marital satisfaction while neuroticism has a strong negative correlation. Extraversion is found to have a weak positive correlation. Openness to experience is found to have a positive correlation to marital satisfaction

but the strength of it is inconclusive.This article aim to find the connection between big five personality and marital satisfaction to let school students get to know it

and make a positive marital values.
