Abstract

Nowadays

when a translator translate a passage from a published textbook

it is no doubt that the language should be adaptable for readers to understand. The textbook whose publisher is

People's Educational Press

is used by most senior high school students living in mainland China. Due to make the readers convin

ced

literal translation and free translation should be used when translating

which is also the translation analysis based on. In the case of a passage about the introduction to theme park

this research looks into the TT whether it tends to pose problems for both the translator and the target language recipients. Moreover

the analysis shows that TL should not only be appropriate to the cultural awareness of TR but depends on the styles of passages. The research put forward some plausible reasons for the use of certain translation strategies on the part of some translators

taking into account factors such as the TR

styles and formats.
