摘要

Abstract

Shakespeare's plays criticize evil and praise truth and goodness

embodying the Christian doctrine that good is rewarded with good

and evil with evil. After removing the story content

Shakespeare's plays actually constitute a book called 'Code of Conduct for Human Behavior'. Shakespeare's dramas have extraordinary artistic charm and great social function. As Goethe says

"Shakespeare makes the world completely transparent for us; he does not write for the eye." Shakespeare's dramas embody Aristotle's theory of purification and conform to the standards of sublimity proposed by Longinus in his treatise

On the Sublime

. Through the form of drama

Shakespeare vividly interprets such important doctrines as the behavioral norms set for humanity in the Bible.
