This paper explores the role of Bollywood films in constructing and reflecting on Indian sociocultural identity through a textual analysis of these films. Using three examples: "3 Idiots

" and "Baahubali

" this paper conducts a thorough analysis from three aspects: the preservation and transmission of traditional values

the exploration and contradictions of modernity

and the construction and reflection of multiple identity. "3 Idiots" demonstrates the reinforcement of societal identification with traditional virtues through the integration of traditional values and the celebration of family

friendship

and the value of an authentic life. "Dangal" reflects the changes and contradictions in Indian society during its modernization process through the female protagonists challenging traditional gender roles

promoting the pursuit of gender equality and self-actualization. "Baahubali" showcases the diversity and inclusivity of Indian culture through its grand narrative and rich visual presentation

strengthening the audience's identification with a unified Indian cultural identity. Adopting a textual analysis method and through a detailed interpretation of the film content

this paper reveals the process by which Bollywood films construct cultural identity in the hearts of the audience. Not only do Bollywood films lead Indian society into deep reflection and exploration of its own cultural identity through their entertainment and cultural expression

but they also subtly reinforce the identification and respect for Indian cultural identity
