摘要

Abstract

In the eighteenth century

with the development of maritime trade between China and England

a large number of Chinese objects entered England and were primarily collected and used by the aristocratic class. These objects were not preserved in their original form but underwent modifications aimed at suiting British native aesthetics and living habits. This process was an active act by English society

based on its own cultural needs

to functionally absorb and reconstruct the image of exotic objects. This paper analyzes how Chinese objects were detached from their original uses

gradually integrated into the material life and spiritual world of the English aristocracy

and ultimately became a kind of "English Chinoiserie" serving local social expression

through five aspects: object import

garden imitation

interior decoration

the functional transformation of porcelain

and the construction of cultural imagination

utilizing estate archives

design literature

and physical evidence.
