Abstract

"The Red and the Black" is a critical realist masterpiece by French author Stendard

and the tragic fate of the female characters in the book is thought-provoking. Poetics is the pioneering work of Western aesthetics

established the first relatively reasonable and complete aesthetic theory system in the West. By applying Aristotle's theories of tragedy such as discovery
