摘要

Abstract

This paper compiles news items on intangible cultural heritage from China Daily. Using the visual grammar of MDA and the theory of systemic functional grammar

it attempts to analyze and illustrate the meta-functions of news discourse and the representational or interactive meaning of news images. This analysis can help readers to develop a comprehensive understanding of the theory and to explore the intentions behind the news.
