摘要

Abstract

As the exchanges between civilizations increased in recent times

a number of works emerged that reflected the author's imagination of other civilizations

such as the book Lost Horizon

which started the "Shangri-La trend". This novel focuses on the experiences of the protagonist

Conway

and his companions in the hidden location named Shangri-La

which is portrayed as a tranquil and transcendent ideal country. This paper will outline and introduce the main characters and the specific details of Shangri-La as depicted in Lost Horizon

and explore the artistic techniques employed in portraying an ideal realm in literature.
