Abstract
More than half a century on from their inception
it still remains a matter of considerable doubt quite what the goals of EU competition law actually are. This is compounded by the gap between the ap- proaches of the European Courts on the one hand and the Commission on the other. Consumer target seems to be more likely the core objective of the Competition Law. And the nature of the Competition Law determined the possibility and necessity of consumers' welfare protection.
