The study finds that the film reconstructs the female narrative paradigm through three dimensions: subverting the traditional gender power structure with the mechanism of "gaze reversal"

achieving the modern writing of traumatic memories through the collage of non-linear time and space

and constructing the poetic expression of gender politics through the symbolic coding of urban space. The style of "humorous realism" created by the film provides an important model for Chinese female films to break through the shackles of tragic narrative and explore the path of subjectivity construction.
