This paper deeply explores the integration of English curriculum on the ideological and political dimension and the education of core socialist values. First of all

the paper analyzes the theoretical connection between the two

and emphasizes the consistency of the two in the goal of cultivating talents and the complementarity in the content and methods. Secondly

it analyzes the existing problems

including insufficient ideological and political content in textbooks

improper teaching methods

and single teaching evaluation index. At the same time

according to the problems

it puts forward improvement suggestions from multiple dimensions

such as exploring cultural themes and character stories in English textbooks
