Abstract

The translation of Tang poems has played a vital role in the “Going Global” of Chinese culture. Used profusely in Tang poems

metonymy bear rhetorical forces that enhance poetic quality and aesthetic values while equally stimulating readers’ imagination.The article investigates the translation strategies of metonymy in Tang poems from the perspective of cognitive linguistics and discovers the differences in linguistic representations in different linguistic environments.
