the Graveyard School is a prominent expression of English sentimentalist literature in the field of poetry. The Graveyard School poets revered emotion and spirituality. Unlike the rationalism prevalent in the 18century

they paid more attention to giving vent to their own feelings. This paper selects Thomas Parnell's

A Night-Piece on Death

as an example to analyze the images of death in the poems

as well as revealing the philosophy of death in the poems through the imagery.
