摘要

Abstract

CGTN English Channel is an important foreign propaganda channel with an important status as China International Television (CITV) focuses on its superior resources. This study uses a questionnaire survey to explore the effectiveness of CGTN English TV news programmes in overseas communication

focusing on the London region of the UK. The study found that CGTN English news programmes have a positive influence on audiences' perceptions

attitudes and behaviours

but they also have problems such as low frequency of viewing

single channel and weak cultural output. In this regard

the paper proposes countermeasures in terms of increasing programme continuity

expanding dissemination channels and emphasising cultural export.
