Abstract

This paper is to explore the relationship between family parenting styles and test anxiety among college students. The paper measured 120 students using a survey of randomly posted online questionnaires. Our analysis shows that one of the important result is that there were significant differences in test anxiety between students from only and non-only families; another one is that significant differences existed between only and non-only families on emotional warmth type and authoritarian type; the last one is that there is a significant correlation between family parenting style and test anxiety. These results show that family parenting style is closely related to test anxiety

and children from emotionally warm families will have lower test anxiety

so parents who give more understanding and care to their children can effectively help students reduce test anxiety.
