Abstract

In the context of globalization

environmental landscapes face the dilemma of cultural homogenization

while the localized experiences of calligraphic inscriptions and Chinese painting imagery in classical gardens offer insights for regional cultural inheritance. This study takes the Lingering Garden as its object

analyzing how its calligraphic inscriptions—relying on carriers such as horizontal inscribed boards and couplets—achieve cultural translation through literary allusions

scholarly spirit

and landscape-related themes. From the dimensions of mountains-rivers

flowers-birds

and artistic conception

Chinese painting imagery constructs a three-dimensional pictorial realm through spatial layout and material color. These two elements deeply interact in content

form

and function

forming a cultural space where inscriptions and scenery mutually enhance each other.
